(she/her)
Jacqueline is a psychologist resident and holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University. At Kaleidoscope, she offers individual and couples psychotherapy for adult clients, as well as psychological assessment. Jacqueline’s areas of interest include immigrant family dynamics, the needs of military veterans, and older adult wellbeing. Jacqueline takes an integrative approach to treatment, drawing from both psychodynamic therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. In practice, this means (a) she creates space for clients to explore internal conflicts, relationship patterns, and past experiences, while (b) they work to develop practical skills in their ‘toolbox’ to navigate difficult emotional states and life challenges.
Each client comes to treatment with their own unique concerns. However, Jacqueline has found that most folks want similar things: to nurture relationships (whether they be with family, romantic partners, friends, their community, or themselves) that bring lasting fulfillment. Perhaps you’ve noticed that you struggle to achieve what those around you seemingly have. In your sessions together with Jacqueline, you would explore the relationships you want to cultivate, how to achieve them, and factors in your personal history (e.g., experiences with primary caregivers, trauma) that may influence how you relate to others. Finally, Jacqueline recognizes that no single approach works for every client. She believes that flexibility is essential to successful treatment and strives to tailor the therapeutic approach and conversation to your individual needs.
Therapy works best when you feel seen by your therapist. If you’d like to see if Jacqueline would be a good fit for you, or simply learn more about what therapy could look like, she invites you to reach out.
