Alex Rales, CSWA

(he/him)

Alex graduated from Stanford University before earning his Masters in Social Work from New York University in 2017. He does both therapy and program development work for Kaleidoscope.

Alex considers a myriad of techniques and philosophies in his approach to therapy, specifically focusing on Motivational Interviewing, Optimistic Therapy, and Positive Psychological Coaching. He strongly believes in a humanistic and person-centered approach to therapy, acknowledging that the first step of coming to therapy is often the toughest and building off each client’s unique confidence and perspectives.

Alex’s experiences include working closely with the LGBTQ+ community and individuals with a history of experiencing homelessness, along with helping clients navigate complex systems as they seek assistance in healing and improving their circumstances. There are opportunities for growth both during and outside of therapy, and Alex strongly believes in meshing the push-pull factors from both sides to create the best sense of comfort and accomplishment while providing the strongest evidence of development.

Whether it is your first time seeking therapy or your most recent attempt at connecting with a therapist, Alex creates a calm and welcoming environment for all of his clients. Therapy can be an uncomfortable challenge at times, but those challenges do not have to be faced alone on your journey of personal development towards self-improvement.
